Topics: Traffic/Sprawl | Zoning Regulations

The Taos zoning ordinance places a maximum square footage on size, depending on the zoning district, up to 30,000 s.f. with “any business of the same type which occurs individually or jointly in a single structure or combination of structures situated upon a single tract of land under the same ownership, shall be considered one business and together restricted to the maximum gross floor area.” The ordinance allows floor area to be increased under a “provisional permit” if, among other criteria, 1) the size is consistent with the uses in the general vicinity and 2) the architecture meets town requirements.
