“Confessions Of A Hit Man”
“I’m proud that I worked for Wal-Mart; I’m not proud of what I did for Wal-Mart.”
Those are the words of Weldon Nicholson, who worked at Wal-Mart for 17 years. Nicholson’s “Confessions of a Hit Man,” is the subject of an extended scene from Robert Greenwald’s upcoming film, ”Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.”
“I watched so many people go without lunch in the lounges that I stopped eating in the lounges, I just had my managers eating there because I just couldn’t stand it. They just wouldn’t eat and we weren’t allowed to offer them any money. There were people i’d see who didn’t eat nothing; they’d take an hour lunch and just sit there.”
“I had people there on welfare working, husbands totally disabled. We’re paying them $6.75, $7.75 an hour. And on any given day, if for some reason you just happen to tick off one of the managers, if you’re full time, you can just work 28 hours a week. And if you tick one of them off bad enough, no matter even if you are just a sub par performer, just at a blink of an eye they can get rid of you. They’ll find a reason. I found a lot of reasons and set people in a lot of positions where they would fail just so I would look good for my boss.”

Mr. Nicholson,
I am curious, sir. Would you mind answering some questions that would help to round out yout statement? Such as:
1. What exactly was your position at Wal-Mart?
2. Why did you leave? Were you terminated or did you quit?
3. What’s your motivation for speaking up NOW?
4. Why did you wait 17 years to come forward?
5. Would you speak up this way if you still had a good job with Wal-Mart?
6. Do you see something wrong with people on welfare trying to work and better themselves?
7. How can totally disabled people work at Wal-Mart? If you are getting total disability, are you allowed to work? Why would you tolerate this?
8. If you have a beef with Wal-Mart, why are you going through the UFCW to air it?
9. How much were you paid on an annual basis (salary, bonus, 401K, benefits, etc.)
10. What are you hoping to accomplish with this thread?
I am grateful to you for giving us more background. Thanks.

If you hit ‘click here’ it will tell you he was a long time WM manager. That answers No. 1.

Thanks Larry for pointing that out, I would have, but my words would have been used to belittle my comment.

Yes, but was he a department manager, manager trainee, assistant manager, store manager, district manager, regional manager, regional VP or above? Did he work with Wal-Mart Stores, Sam’s, Neigborhood Market, Logistics, HR, Purchasing, Legal, Finance or home office? “Manager” could mean anything. Jack Welch and the guy at the local Wendy’s are both “managers” but hardly similar.

Maybe--just maybe he is a hitman. In any case I don’t think this guy posts here or has any intention either. You could do a google search on the guy.

I agree with Nick. There is an extreme lack of information. I will try the google bit.

Weldon Nicholson was a Walmart manager. The book appears to be about all there is available on him. The synopsis of the movie is limited to what walmart watch provided. The director, Brian Flemming, appears to be a bit of a kook, if you look at the rest of his efforts.

ND in Sidious, your inability to compose a post on your own is very obvious. If you need some help please let me know, but please don’t butcher mine, thanks.
Maybe you could take Nick’s advice and use your own name, or at least not proclaim to be desiple of a mere human.

I once worked with Mr, Nicholson.
He was very nice to the Associates but I knew he had other intentions wile Store Manager at our store. We had just gone through a Union Campaign and all of a sudden he shows up and is the new Manager.
Alot of people were fired while he was in our store. I went on vacation and when I returned he was gone and knowone knew where he went. When I asked several people they jsy said he was here for just a little while to help get the store running better.
He was there to fire everyone who supported the Union.

Nothing will ever change about Weldon Nicholson. Once a hitman, always a hitman. No matter where you go or what you do, you will always be that same person.

I spent over 3 yrs as management at Wal Mart. I’ve seen many things that I didn’t agree with and was forced to be a part of things that , to myself, didn’t agree with. I know some things for sure about them:
If they want someone gone they wil find a way (for sure).
Associates have been forced to do things like work off the clock.
Associates have been picked on.
Forced to work when they are on days off or else.
Have been “coached” for absolute stupid reasons and fired for some stupid reasons.
Oh, and you talk about favortism - thats big. Be a buddy of a manager and you get away with stuff.
These thing I know for a fact................
