FEC Responds To Our Complaint
Today we received a letter from Jeff Jordan at the Federal Election Commission responding to the formal complaint Wal-Mart Watch filed against Wal-Mart for holding meetings warning employees not to vote for Democrats.
Wal-Mart will be notified with our official complaint within five days, and the FEC has promised to notify us when “final action” is taken. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
Read the full response letter here, and read the original complaint letter here.

I’m guessing the punishment is a hefty fine and not jail time, and since this looks like a general reply just saying “we got your letter,” I doubt they will even get that. Especially since I have yet to see anyone say Walmart said who to vote for, all I have seen is they said that Obama would pass the “free choice act” which is true, and one of the reasons unions endorse him so heavily.

You’re right, Dave. From what I’ve read Wal-Mart didn’t tell employees who to vote for. Instead they told them who not to vote for.
I wonder if the FEC recognizes that distinction?

I Wonder...
I wonder if somewhere in the back of Barack Obama’s mind, when he speaks of taking away tax breaks from Exxon and other companies that ship jobs out of this country, that he isn’t including of Wal-Mart as well!
I wonder if those Wal-Mart lobbyists in Washington aren’t going to find it a little harder to get in the door of the White House after Obama is elected?

Wal*Mart is the leader. They started the Big Box lower pay or we ship your job overseas concept. Is Target Guilty too? Sure they are. But they are competing against the beast from Bentonville who won’t be happy till they run the whole show. If you have evidence of Taret telling its employees how to vote “or else” send it on.

Hi Screwed,
I was taken aback by Hillary’s speach, in which she practically said Wal*Mart. Very keep jobs in America, and Very Pro-Union..... I’m probably repeating myself, but I have to wonder if she’s finally realized that Wal*Mart is always going to be a boat anchor on her political viability? They certainly ran to the Republicans when it became aparent that Barak and Not Hillary was going to be the Candidate.

Bobby: I think Hillary realizes that the boat is far too rusted out and taking on way too much water to stay afloat any longer. Maybe she will become an officer ,on a NEW ship of state ,under Captain Obama? Anchors aweigh!

“They certainly ran to the Republicans when it became aparent that Barak and Not Hillary was going to be the Candidate. “
They were Republican even before that. They have always donated more to Republicans and backed them more. They didn’t even back Clinton when he was running for President.

I wonder if its against FEC rules for WalMart non hourly employees to come HERE and speak out AGAINST Obama in an effort to reach hourly WalMart employees and influence their votes? Isn’t that what’s going on?

Hey, Matt, show me a Target website and I will GLADLY go on there and put my two cents in - I worked there for a year and it was one of the worst jobs that I’ve ever had - however, this site is about Wal-Mart (although you might forget that from all of the tangents that people go off on).

Generic,
“show me a Target website and I will GLADLY go on there and put my two cents in - I worked there for a year and it was one of the worst jobs that I’ve ever had”
What do you mean, when you say, that Target was “one of the worst jobs I have ever had”? I thought Wal-Mart was the WORST and Target was ‘great’!! Seems you have a habit of choosing ‘bad’ jobs!! Why don’t you go out and get a ‘good’ one, maybe a UNION job? Why do you continue to work for a company that treats their employees so badly? And, don’t say there are NO good jobs, because if that’s true, then Wal-Mart isn’t any different than any other job!! Could be, that to you, any job wouldn’t be good enough, because they expect you to WORK while you are there!!

...it’s like Vampires..
And like vampires, the Beast of Bentonville needs a stake driven through it’s heart (if we can find one).
