For anyone interested in where these GET THE LATEST NEWS stories go after they are pushed off the front page, well, I’m not exactly sure. They seem to be trapped somewhere in the space-time continum for awhile and then they reappear on Page 4 of the blog! (Ain’t technology grand?)

Sadly this humor is above the intelligence level of 95% of all Wal*Mart shoppers. The other 5% are stock holders. Maybe Wal*Mart watch needs to “dumb down” its approach. This being said, The Onion is a much more reliable source for news than FOX or the NY Post.
Thanks for a good laugh!

If Walmart were to fall under Union:
Wages would be increased
Jobs would decrease
What good is a Union to Walmart employees? Or to anyone for that matter? How would this help the economy? How does this benefit the employees that would lose their jobs? Who is WMW looking out for?
Dems are pandering to Unions by trying to eliminate the secret ballot. How does that help employees if they are not allowed to vote in secret?

Of course Wal-Mart wants a Republican President.
An example is that during the current Bush
administration, the President decreed that all
law suits against major retalers must be filed
in federal courts, because these judges were
slanted to management.

The Democrats are all talk. They are either liars or too weak-kneed to do anything. There are exceptions to this but for the most part they are a big joke - Republican-Lite would be the term that I would use to describe them. Even if they want to pass this employee free choice act they will be too afraid to appear like “liberals” (whatever that means - people just know that it’s bad to be a “liberal") so it won’t happen. Corporations and banks control the United States so I don’t see this happening. There might as well be the Republicrat party or the Demobublicans.
Still, that being said I will most likely vote for Barack Obama because someone has to look out for the “little guy”.

Big Tex,
“What good is a Union to Walmart employees? Or to anyone for that matter? How would this help the economy? How does this benefit the employees that would lose their jobs? Who is WMW looking out for?”
You are assuming that the unions and WMW CARE about the employees, if they did, they wouldn’t put them down so much!! The true aim here, is union dues for the unions, the employees are just the instruments from which these DUES will come!!
Alex,
One question: If the union calls a STRIKE, who suffers the most from it, the union, the company or the employees?
RDS in

Larry, quit believing right-wing (or left-wing or centrist for that matter) propaganda. A lot of people won’t say the pledge of allegience for various reasons - some of them religious and some of them political. This is America, not North Korea - we have the right to dissent - we can criticize the policies of our nation. This story is not accurate anyway.
Also, having an Arabic middle name is not a crime or a sin and he is NOT a Muslim. By the way, even if he was a Muslim this is not a crime and it does not automatically make you a terrorist suicide bomber Islamist anymore than being a Christian makes you a Falangist or being a Jew makes you a Zionist or being an Atheist or Agnostic makes you a bad person.
A few facts for you, the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Socialist Minister, some of the most enthusiastic recruits for World War 2 were members of the Communist Party USA (I do not consider myself a Socialist or Communist by the way) and Islam is related to Christianity and Judaism (during the crusades it was considered an heretical sect of Christianity). Also, the Treaty of Tripoli (which was Muslim) states “The United States is in no way a Christian Nation”. The founding fathers had a lot of admiration and respect for genuine Christianity but they were not against Islam or other religions. America is NOT and was never meant to be a theocracy. The controversy of the Muslim politician taking his oath on the Koran is absurd because it was THOMAS JEFFERSON’s KORAN!

RDS(Bob)
So help me to understand. The employees don’t have a strike vote anymore? The union just decides that there is going to be a strike? One starts from scratch with you Bob.
Who suffers the most Bob when the employees don’t have a say in their workplace? I’ll answer this one for you. The workers. That is the deal Walmart provides. Not much of a deal.

Bob’s point is that Wal-Mart is better equipped to withstand a lengthy strike than its workers are. This should be obvious.

“...how in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next C ommander-in-Chief?” ~Larry in USN
Larry the sooner you get over your “flag worshiping,” the less tense you’ll feel!
Did it ever occur to you that there are many good people in this country who love America just as much as you do, but for one difference. They don’t worship a flag. It’s a piece of red, white, and blue cloth, sewn together in a recognizable pattern, that symbolizes a country, the United States. Don’t attach anymore meaning to it Larry. The sooner you and the miltaristic, jingoistic, far religious right wing-nuts in this country can do this, the less stress you’ll feel!
Maybe these people like Obama, have took a long hard look at what is going on, and has gone on in this country for far too long, and decided they don’t like the “Republic” for which the flag stands.
Wanting to change some things at home in America, (domestic policy) wanting to change some the things that that gets America into trouble with its “neighbors” around the world, (foreign policy) wanting to improve the lives of the middle class, and wanting to stop the pandering to the special interests of the lobbyists who work for oil companies and Big Business, does not make a person “un-American!”
If anything, wanting to change the “business as usual” in this country, wanting to improve this country for the betterment of all, makes someone MORE American in my book. The problem is, who do “we the people” allow to decide what is “best for America?”
Just get over it Larry!

Screwed- Try your rant about the flag (in person) in Mexico or another foreign country- about their flag, see what happens. Let me know when you do, I’d love to watch!
Dont forget 9/11 and the 5000 plus fellow Americans who were MURDERED by Muslim Extremist! Get over it -Not likely!
Most Loyal Americans, especially Veterans, feel as strongly about Our country and our Flag as you do -Screwed, about the demise of walmart.
Even though, I am not a fan of walmart, by any means, & am also for there demise, especially because of their record of mistreating veterans, It is a remote possibility.
Just get over it Screwed!
Where I draw the line, is, when a Senator of our country, with questionable citizenship, Desecrates our Flag & our country by refusing to recognize the Flag in any positive manner, then wants my vote for the president of the USA- Well, I am not ready to sell the country short. A vote for Obama is a vote for the DEMISE of America!
Of course only a Veteran or Loyal American would understand that! Screwed- you openly admit you would run from serving your country!

He doesn’t have to “get the hell out” Larry. This is supposed to be a free nation where people aren’t forced to worship their government and are free to have differing opinions - you know “the land of the free”. You claim to love the flag but don’t honor what it’s supposed to stand for - absurd. The ideology of “my country right or wrong” or “love it or leave it” is fascist - period and doesn’t belong in a civilized society. You are free to worship the flag and the president all day long or automatically support any invasion that your government decides to engage in without question like a robot but everyone is not going to do this. I assume that if you were a Russian citizen that you would support Vladimir Putin and the invasion of Georgia because it’s “patriotic” to do so and if you were alive during the American revolution you would be on the side of the British crown. “Discension is the highest form of patriotism.” - Thomas Jefferson
Matt, unions can be worthless or they can help the employee out, it all depends. I’ve talked to people that are extremely pro-union and people that are anti-union all based on their usually singular experience with a union. I know that when my Grandfather was alive he fought for unionization and thugs were broght in to break it up. A lot of the things that we take for granted and the existence of a propserous middle class were in large part the result of unions (before this there was just rich and poor with nothing inbetween). My Grandmother still receives money and even gets cost of living increases. I have worked for two companies with a union when I was younger - one was a grocery store and the other was a “hypermarket” chain in Michigan (which predates Wal-Mart). The grocery store union would stand up for the workers and prevent them from being mistreated while the other union was worthless and just took money out of your pitifully small check.

Matt buddy, you need to quit worrying about unions and start worrying about re-creating good paying jobs right here in the good ole U.S. of A! These jobs didn’t leave because of the Evil Unions. They were pushed off shore by the group pushing for a “Service Economy”. This has to be the biggest Bull Sh*t political ter ever coined! And during the 90’s when it was all the vogue for Americans to empty their savings accounts and sink the money into tech stock and Wal*Mart stock, we bet the farm and lost. Republicans and Democrats alike. Now all the jobs are gone and Wal*Mart is all we have left… This is not an issue of Union or Non Union. It is an issue of trade and ecconomics. Wal*Mart was a HUGE proponent and Enabler of the offshoring Phenominon. What has happened is that the Baby Boomer’s accumulated Savings, Equity and other Wealth has been squandered by a corrupt banking and a broken political system. As you watch the banks fail, remember that this is the direct result of the Wal*Martization of America. The term “Wal*Martization” wasn’t dreamed up by walmart watch. It was invented in the investment and political community. Well it’s time for people to wake up and see that things have value. The most valuable asset that you have is the time God gives you on this earth. In our cheap goods “throw away socciety” Wal*Mart thinks that your time is also “throw away and valueless” as do the banks, republicans and the oil companies. Don’t be a dummy. I for one think that you, you’r loved ones and even the people who for whatever reason have thrown insults my way or that I disagree with, I think you have value and are not throw away. Don’t let Wal*Mart tell you different.

The Republicans are no longer conservatives they were infiltrated by the neocons who are conservative in name only but in ideology believe in some pretty scary things. I would label them as cryptofascists. People are just too partisan and fanatical in their beliefs to see what’s right in their face, however. The Democrats are Republican Lite. Both of these parties are screwing over the American people (with some exceptions) and do not represent the interests of the average person in this country. It’s time for people to wake up. I know of a guy that I work with that was getting paid $100,000.00 a year and now has to work at Wal-Mart at three in the morning because he can’t get a job. I also work with people that lost their auto jobs and people that are in their fifties and sixties that have to do work that they shouldn’t be doing now. I used to have an office job that was supposed to be my career but lost that and couldn’t get another so I ended up working at Wal-Mart (it was supposed to be for a few months until I could find something better) and I have now been there for multiple years.
I know someone that lives in a town in Michigan that was completely structured around a Ford plant and now it just sits there collecting dust. I AM grateful to have a job at Wal-Mart and everything about it isn’t bad. I actually correct misconceptions that people have about it at times but I also hate my job as well and do not like how the company does business. What’s sad is that this is basically what there is in Michigan now as far as jobs are concerned. The most common jobs in Michigan are Wal-Mart, truckdriver and nurse - or drugdealer.

I Think You Understand, Generic Wal-Mart Wageslave...
Unfortunately people like Larry in USN and RDS don’t!
This country has become too politically and ideologically polarized. I don’t envy any person who is charged with the task of “bringing the country together.” I’m not sure it can be done. The hot button topic of abortion needs to be taken out of the discussion. There are many more issues that need to be addressed.
I wonder if people like Larry and RDS aren’t under the impression that 9/11 was the first time America was attacked on “our soil.” NO… Pearl Harbor wasn’t the first time either!
We were attacked by the British during the War of 1812. They marched on Washington D.C. and burnt not only the White House, but almost every other federal building to the ground. The presidency of James Madison and the resolve of our young country was tested to the max.
I certainly am not advocating anarchy, and I hope something with the magnitude of 9/11 doesn’t happen again. But I’m afraid that’s what it’s going to take to shake this divided country to its foundation, and get politicians and citizens alike, to realize that first and foremost, we are all Americans! We don’t need to go chasing the boogeymen and looking for trouble around the globe. There are plenty of forces inside this country that are dragging it down the drain, in the “Race to the Bottom.”
The choice in this election should be obvious! As Dr. Phil likes to always say, “How’s it working for you?” Perhaps Obama represents the unknown or untested, perhaps he doesn’t. I’m putting my money on the “unknown” and the “untested.”
We know what we’ll get with the John McCain ticket--- we’ve been living it for the last 8 years!

I suppose you’ve seen Roger and Me… I won’t go on a political rant, primarily because it is what the powerbase wants. United We Stand, Divided We Fall, The United States of America and most recently The European Union. Someone once said that “There is nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed with what’s right with America”. I actually believe that. I also believe that there is a group of people that stand to benefit by keeping the Country divided. I for one am not willing to sit arround waiting for the “Rapture” to try to get things back on track. The Democrats are “Republican Light” but at least the aren’t NeoCons. It’s funny you can’t spell conservate without “con”.
As I write this I am in an office with a skeleton weekend group. We are listening to a Radio Station in NYC at 101.9. They play some pretty good classic and new rock and the majority (99%) of the people working here agree on the music. The problem is that there is a Wal*Mart radio saturation campaign going on and we are now looking for another channel. Even the people in my office who don’t give a hoot about Wal*Mart can’t stand another commercial.

Yeah, I’m trying to stay off of politics too, but it keeps coming up somehow. I am an Independent but I will vote Democrat because I subscribe to the lesser-of-two evils philosophy. I CERTAINLY would not vote for a neocon (hopefully they don’t rig the election for a third time). If I had a (realistic) choice than I would probably vote for Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney. I sure wish the U.S. had instant runoff voting.

Hi Generic,
Well Roger and Me wouldn’t tell you anything that you don’t already know. It was introduced to the American public in 1989 and was a warning. People who were born in 1989 are what? 18 years old now, and guess what, they are voting age. They don’t have any barameter to measure the country’s decline. Actually they do if they just look at the last 8 years. The problem we are dealing with is a reactive rather than a pro-active government and society. America suffers from procrastination. I gues you could say we are a Procrasti-Nation. If someone set off a Nuclear Bomb in Middle America, there would be a huge public outcry for about three weeks, or until the bills showed up, the NeoCons and the Left would point fingers and a bunch of corporatist would quickly figure out a way to make $$$ off of the disaster. We as a country have gone from inovators to sheep. No matter how many Duane Reeds or WalMarts there are we will eventually clear the shelves of band-aids to solve the fundamental flaws that were put into place by the Reagan Administration. There is a reason why Ralph Nader is laughed at and disregarded as a muckety muck. He pissed off a bunch of the Bastards that have been strip mining our economy. I really wish he would come in to the Democrats. Becaus as you have said, they are just republican light. I hope Barak gives him a Cabinet Post when he gets elected. I am looking forward to getting back to the America I grew Up In!

While on the subject of Ralph Nader, let’s not forget a third party candidate that shook American Politics to the Core. Of course I’m speaking of Mr. Ross Perot. The same way the Democrats have villified Ralph Nader, So to have the Republicans gone After Ross Perot. Here are 2 Political Outsiders who are suposedly on opposite sides of the issues… ross Cost Bush theElection, and Ralph may or maynot have cost Gore the election. There is a huge difference though. And I challenge all the Neocons to debate me on this one. Bush loosing the Election to Clinton was Great for the Country and Gore loosing the election to Bush was Catastrophic to the Country. (no exclamation point needed). Clinton listened to Mr. Perot and to his credit, truly reached accross party lines in search of solutions. Can you immagine Bush listening to Ralph Nader?!!!!! Here in is the problem and why Bill Clinton flawed as he was, Blew away both Bushes as a Comander in Chief. He was Bi-Partisan. He was all about ideas and their merit. This REALLY pissed off the Right Wingers! They had NOTHING to Complain About. The result was $Millions of tax payer dollars waisted on a stupid impeachment. Now we have a guy who has ripped off the citizens for $$Billions and no Impeachment. Why? Because it would be inconvenient. And, the NeoConmen could never let it happen. Nixon was an Altar Boy compared to Bush and this brings us to the current problems facing America. We have Three groups of people that do not have the general publics best interest at heart running the show! 1) Globalist: They believe that it our responsibility to redistribute our country’s wealth to the less fortunate (as long as they get rich in the proccess) 2) NeoCons: They don’t have a clue about anything and just want the world to end so they can go to heaven and get it over with. 3) Corporatist: They see what a bunch of sheep that are running things and are more than happy to take the $$$!
Am I right?

1) Sorry for the horrific spelling and grammar.
2) Why does Wal*Mart need “Educated Mother for W*Mart”? Are they infering that the women who shop there are uneducated?
3) If there was a Ross Perot/Ralph Nader Ticket (in any order) who would it hurt most in the general election? The Republicans or the Democrats?
4) Any Woman who would vote for Sarah Palin would be an insult to all of the women who fought and won the right to vote in this country. There are wonderfully qualified women that could run for president and get my vote, even Hillary now that she seems to have denounced Wal*Mart. Generic,
“I am an Independent but I will vote Democrat because I subscribe to the lesser-of-two evils philosophy.”
That ‘lesser-of-two evils’ thing is what is wrong with this country right now, because both the Republicans and Democrats, have set up a system, where you only REALLY have TWO choices!! A third party, no matter how ‘great’ they may be, is NOT going to win!! They may as EM*F said, be a spoiler, but, that’s all!! If everybody who thought about that ‘lesser-of-two’ evils, would vote their conscience, maybe we could get some REAL change!! The partisianship today, has gotten so bad, that polititians are automatically against anything proposed by the other party, they no longer work for the American people, they now work only for power for their parties!!
“Both of these parties are screwing over the American people (with some exceptions)”
That is another problem, people thinking that ALL of the people in government are ‘bad’, except the ones that represent them, so they keep electing the SAME people over and over again!! Then, there is the ‘you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” method of passing or not passing bills!! Not to mention ‘earmarking’!! Adding ‘pork’ to a bill that they know will probably pass and ranting if the bill is vetoed, that the President doesn’t care about the people who would have benefitted from the non-pork part of the bill, is outrageous!!
The government doesn’t just need a Change of President, it needs a total ‘house cleaning’!! What I would like to see, is people working as hard at trying to change government as they are trying to get rid of Wal-Mart, trying to work on the disease, instead of just the symptom!!
One last thing, Sage mentioned Ron Paul awhile back and some here jumped all over him, for supporting a wacko, because Ron Paul believes we should be following the Constitution!! Funny thing is, what Ron Paul says, is mainly the same as what those people who are against him, have said should be done!! They just refuse to hear what he is saying!! They too would rather vote for the ‘lesser-of-two evils’, so nothing will ever really change, no matter who is elected!! After all, you can’t ‘reach across the aisle’, if the people across the aisle, don’t even want to listen to what you have to say!!
“ I have worked for two companies with a union when I was younger - one was a grocery store and the other was a “hypermarket” chain in Michigan (which predates Wal-Mart). The grocery store union would stand up for the workers and prevent them from being mistreated while the other union was worthless and just took money out of your pitifully small check.”
That’s what I have been saying, be careful which union you wish for, and if you choose one, go for the one that stands up for their workers, not the one that just wants your dues money!! A good union, will help you become unionized, not just ‘bash’ your employer!! And, I bet that you know which employees at your store, would like to see a union and which ones wouldn’t!!

Which Union Are You “Wishing For,” RDS?
“...be careful which union you wish for, and if you choose one, go for the one that stands up for their workers, not the one that just wants your dues money!!” ~RDS
And here all the while we misunderstood you, RDS. So you’re not really against unions afterall, just some unions.
“if you choose one?”
So who do you think intimidates employees more, the employer or the union, when they “freely” would like to choose a union? Would it be the employer, who can theaten its employees with surveillance, poor job evaluations, loss of promotions, less desireable working hours, or a loss of income and outright dismissal because of “insubordination.”
So you really don’t have a problem with Wal-Mart being unionized, you just don’t want the UFCW or the SEIU to do it. Is that it?
Who would you recommend?

“And here all the while we misunderstood you, RDS. So you’re not really against unions afterall, just some unions.”
Gee, after I have posted that many times, you finally get it!! I have said that I am against ‘big’ powerful unions who care more about dues than their rank and file!!
“So who do you think intimidates employees more, the employer or the union, when they “freely” would like to choose a union?”
What a ‘stupid’ question!! Of course the unions wouldn’t intimidate employees BEFORE an election, they WANT employees to ‘vote’ FOR the union!! You act like it is TOTALLY impossible for people who really want a union, to get one!! Fact is, somehow against all odds some WM stores in Canada and a couple of WM store departments in the U.S. have managed to do just that!! The problem is you can’t just get 10 people in one store to acomplish something, you have to get ALL the stores in an area to unionize at the same time!!
“So you really don’t have a problem with Wal-Mart being unionized, you just don’t want the UFCW or the SEIU to do it. Is that it?”
You got it!!
“Who would you recommend?”
How about the National Federation of Independent Unions (NFIU)? But, if it came down to either the UFCW or the SEIU, I would pick the SEIU!! Actually, if they REALLY wanted it, the Wal-Mart employees could form their own union!!

Considering with a secret ballot neither knows how I vote I would have to say I wouldn’t worry about intimidation now. What scares me is someone knowing how I vote like the unions will if the bill passes, but obviously they don’t care about the workers rights and would rather they know how we vote so they can bother and intimidate us into signing the card and letting them in and giving them are hard earned money.

In the speech, Obama made specific reference to the airlift as a White House program, a product of the Kennedy administration. He said:
It worried folks in the White House who said, “You know, we’re battling Communism. How are we going to win hearts and minds all across the world? If right here in our own country, John, we’re not observing the ideals set fort in our Constitution, we might be accused of being hypocrites.” So the Kennedy’s decided we’re going to do an air lift.
This gets history wrong on several counts. First, the timing is incorrect, as I noted. The airlifts started before Kennedy took office. It never had official sanction as a government program, but only private support from the Kennedy Foundation — and only after Obama Sr. had arrived in Hawaii for his studies. The Kennedys didn’t create the idea of the airlift, either; it began with eventual Kenyan political martyr Tom Mboya.
Why the deception? Obama’s speech had two purposes: to increase his authenticity as a black politician by tying himself to Selma and the general civil-rights movement, and to assume the mantle of Kennedy’s Camelot. Both are essentially falsehoods. Selma had nothing to do with his conception or his formative years; by the time the march occured, his father had already left the family and returned to Kenya (1963). The Kennedy administration has nothing at all to do with his existence, as I pointed out by doing the math that shows that Obama would have had to have been almost three months premature to have been conceived even on JFK’s inauguration.
This exposes Obama as a politician who plays fast and loose with his life story to transform himself into whatever his audience wants to see. For those who want to see a post-racial candidate, he downplays race as an issue. When in Chicago, he hangs out with radicals like Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Bernadette Dohrn for authenticity. For Democrats wanting a return to JFK, he ties himself to the Kennedys in a false and strangely sexual manner. And for those who want a candidate with civil-rights movement credentials, he offers the same kind of connection to a famous march that obviously had nothing to do with his birth.
In other words, Barack Obama is a phony. Had the media that covered his speech in Selma in March 2007 thought to do the math, Democrats

If even a few of these are true. . .it’s not good!
OBAMA’S “NOT EXACTLYS”
1.) Selma Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to
have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965.
( <http://www.google.com> Google ‘ Obama Selma ‘ for his full March 4, 2007
speech and articles about its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well
educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one
of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties to African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your
cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a
legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence
in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to
overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo
Obama, is Odinga’s follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning
to speak to Odinga on the phone.
Obama’s cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia
Muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers
have burned Christians’ homes and then burned men, women and children alive
in a Christian church where they took shelter… Obama SUPPORTED his cousin
before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see
what you get. No one wants to know the truth.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been a Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does
her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to
mention, Christianity wouldn?t allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1
man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and
?Baraka? (from which Barack came) means ‘blessed’ in that language. Hussein
is also Arabic and so is Obama.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black !. If elected, he would be the first
Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama
is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African
Negro from his father’s side. While Barack Hussein Obama’s father was from
Kenya , his father’s family was mainly Arabs. Barack Hussein Obama’s father
was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father’s birth certificate
even states he’s Arab, not African Negro). From, and for more, go to:

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at
school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31
years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
4-3-08 Article “Obama was ‘quite religious in islam’”

8.) My School in Indonesia was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were
registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making
faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama
recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with
a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated
(it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks); Mr. Obama described the call to
prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” This is just
one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says “Obama’s narrative
is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.”
9.) I Was Fluent in Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you
could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT
EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak
the language. What did you learn-- how to study the Koran and watch
cartoons?
11.) I Am Stronger on Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa
(surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise); you have never been
anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest
allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you
were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and
no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just
fine.
13.) An Ebony Article Moved Me to Run for Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony
has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never
did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My outlook on Life - NOT EXACTLY,
Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and
never did, exist.

15.) I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ‘08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you
are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience
by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Voting “Present” is Common in Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they
are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Mis-voted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups
and Democrats, did you beg to change your mis-vote.
18.) I Was A Professor of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer
ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior
lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn’t
write it, introduce it, change it, or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard to Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14
days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected
by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly
because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008,
state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all
the special interests pork hidden within.
24.) I took On the Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were
part of a large group of people (20) who remedied Altgeld Gardens . You
failed to mention anyone else but yourself in your books.
25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111
economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and
even YOU voted against your own bill.
26.) I Have Been a Bold Leader in Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own
supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.
27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were
not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow
Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.
28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY,
the Candian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your
campaign had with them.
29.) I Am Tough on Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran
Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the
destruction of Israel .
30.) I Want All Votes to Count - NOT EXACTLY; you said let the delegates
decide.
31.) I Want Americans to Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that
limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate
during small windows of time.
32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed
26, most of which (20) you didn’t write yourself.
33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics
to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.
34.) I Don’t Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.
35.) I don’t Have Lobbysists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists,
and counting.
36.) My Campaign Had Nothing to Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your
own campaign worker made the ad on his <http://www.apple.com> Apple in
just one afternoon.
37.) I Have Always Been against Iraq - NOT EXACTLY, you weren’t in
office to vote against it AND you have voted to fund it every single time.
38.) I Have Always Supported Universal Health Care - your plan leaves us
all to pay for the 15,000,000 who don’t have to buy it.

OBAMA ATTEMPTS TO
STOP U.S. TROOP WITHDRAWAL
DISGRACEFUL ACTION TAKEN IN IRAQ
FOR POLITICAL ADVANTAGE!
Dear Friends:
It is almost impossible to believe Barack Obama can be this arrogant. But sometimes the worst about politicians is true. It looks like Barack Obama told the Iraqi government to halt negotiations on troop withdrawals until after the election.
Obama is putting his own political objectives ahead of the safety of U.S. troops in Iraq. Apparently this all happened during his celebrated trip to Iraq - yes, the same trip where he refused to meet with American military personnel in the hospital in Germany because they wouldn’t let news camera crews turn the visit into a circus and political stunt.
Iraqi government sources have revealed to the New York Post that Presidential candidate Barack Obama demanded that Iraqi officials stop negotiations with the Bush Administration to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq. Read the story for yourself.
Fearful that the success in Iraq would harm his political aspirations, Obama sought to keep U.S. troops in Iraq so he can continue attacking the Bush Administration for not imposing a timetable for withdrawal. If these allegations prove to be true, it should be the end of the Obama campaign. The report says this was a demand Obama made to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari.
(Zebari with Secretary of State Condi Rice)
You can bet the mainstream media will try to smother this story and keep Americans from finding out about what happened. Only Fox News has reported it so far.
Obama should have the decency to recognize that he lacks the moral character to serve as Commander-in-Chief, and he should withdraw from the ticket. I have never heard of any candidate deliberately trying to get Americans killed to prove their point.
According to the New York Post story, not only did Obama seek to get the Iraqi to stop negotiating with Americans on the troop drawdown, he also tried to bully General David Petraeus to agree to a hard withdrawal date.
The hypocrisy of Barack Obama - to say, in the United States, that he wants a speedier troop withdrawal date - while telling the Iraqis to stop negotiating is appalling. Even supporters of a quicker U.S. withdrawal must be sickened by his conduct in Iraq. If there were ever a candidate who has demonstrated the lack of character and leadership to represent the United States in foreign affairs, it is Barack Obama.

Something for nothing.
That’s what Wal*Mart and its elitist banking friends have been telling the Ameirican people for over 16 years. Well it looks like even the best educated of the best educated can get it wrong. Or did they? Is the current financial crisis a big woops? Or the result of the banking elite taking our savings? Calling this the Wal*Mart Economy is completely fair, just like calling the economy after WWII the “Post War Economy”. The fact is that a bunch of frightened “Baby Boomers” and Retiries gave all their savings to investment banks who then sent the money off shore. America is now just another broke minority. This is an outrage. But, we did it to ourselves. America we’ve been conned long enough.

PARIS — Is the United States no longer the global beacon of unfettered, free-market capitalism?
In extending a last-minute $85 billion lifeline to A.I.G., the troubled insurer, Washington has not only turned away from decades of rhetoric about the virtues of the free market and the dangers of government intervention, it has also likely undercut future American efforts to promote such policies abroad.
“I fear the government has passed the point of no return,” said Ron Chernow, a leading American financial historian. “We have the irony of a free-market administration doing things that the most liberal Democratic administration would never have been doing in its wildest dreams.”

EAGLES and GARTH TAKE NOTE!!!!!!!
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Metallica’s first album in five years soared to No. 1 on the U.S. pop chart Wednesday, while Jessica Simpson’s country debut and hip-hop icon LL Cool J’s label swan song faltered.
The hard rock band’s “Death Magnetic” sold 490,000 copies during the week ended September 14, according to Nielsen SoundScan. But it was on sale for only three of those days, because it was released worldwide on Friday. Albums usually come out on a Tuesday in the United States, and a day earlier everywhere else.
Metallica’s previous studio release, “St. Anger,” started with 418,000 copies during a similarly shorter-than-normal window in 2003, and was ultimately considered a critical and commercial disappointment. The last Metallica album to stage a larger opener than “Death Magnetic” was 1996’s “Load,” which rolled 680,000 units in its first frame.
Metallica is the first group to see five of its albums bow at No. 1 on The Billboard 200. Previously, the act was tied with the Beatles, U2 and the Dave Matthews Band, with four each. It is also Metallica’s fifth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 and its seventh release to start with more than 300,000 since 1991, when Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data.
There’s still Hope for America!!! Wal*Mart hasn’t ruined everthing! I’m not a HUGE Metalica fan, But you’ve got to give these lads Credit for not selling out and not being a bunch of Wal*Mart Sissys!

Some political leaders are going to try to put the blame for the Unprecidented financial melt down on “Greedy Bankers”. To them I say you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. Supporter’s of Reaganomics, Republican, Democrat, Businesses and the voters. This mess is yours. Don’t blame the Banks for voting with your wallet. Bush Senior was 100% Correct when he called Reaganomics “Voo-Doo Economics” Doing away with regulations, Unions and adding incredible greed and an aging Baby Boom generation that has seen benefits and pension plans done away with or downgraded. We have seen a huge movement of American wealth go from the once mighty middle class to points unknown. It’s time to call a pig a pig. It’s time to admit you were wrong and move on.

FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:
For those of you keeping score at home, so far this year, the U.S. Government has agreed to shell out about $800 billion in loans and bailout packages. That includes everything from the $300 billion to help struggling homeowners refinance mortgages they shouldn’t have gotten in the first place to the $85 billion loan Uncle Sam is extending insurance giant AIG.
Not exactly chump change…
On Tuesday, John McCain said he opposed a taxpayer bailout of AIG but changed his tune a day later, saying the government had no choice but to come to the rescue.
Barack Obama hasn’t directly addressed the bailout question. But Obama contends that the anti-regulatory stance of Republicans in Congress is the reason why we’re in this mess. And while his VP candidate Joe Biden said Tuesday he did not think the government should rescue AIG, the Obama-Biden camp acknowledged a day later, it had to be done to protect the economy.
Here’s my question to you: Has the growing financial crisis changed your mind about who to vote for for president?

“ Has the growing financial crisis changed your mind about who to vote for for president"-
Udoubtedly!
Subject: Obama explains National Anthem
Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
‘As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides,’ Obama said. ‘There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.’ If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.’
WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this could possibly be our next president. I, for once, am speechless.
He better take sides..........if he is not on the side of AMERICA he MUST NOT EVEN BE CONSIDERED for the office he is seeking . We do not need a man in office that will not sa lute the flag. The world knows how to sing, what they need to know is that the USA will defend what that flag stands for.

Biden: McCain helped cripple labor movement
Posted on Sat, Sep. 20, 2008
By BOB LEWIS
CASTLEWOOD, Va.—Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Saturday that Republican John McCain has helped President Bush destroy regulatory safeguards for the middle class in general and the labor movement in particular.
Biden, a Delaware senator, told hundreds of cheering coal mining families at a United Mine Workers picnic that McCain went along with Bush in putting anti-labor, corporate interests in charge of the U.S. Labor Department and the National Labor Relations Board.
“Do any of you doubt that this administration has anything else in mind than doing in the labor movement?” Biden asked.
Biden’s visit was the third since June by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama or him to the rural, blue-collar southwestern tip of Virginia, now a battleground state. It hasn’t backed a Democrat for president in 44 years.
Biden linked McCain and Bush in blame for high fuel costs, declining health benefits for workers and veterans, and a troubled stock market.
“This president has us engaged in three wars - one of necessity in Afghanistan and one of choice in Iraq,” Biden said. “But he also has been at war on labor’s house since the day he was elected.”
He said veterans have faced substandard medical care and educational benefits under the administration, and that when Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., sought to improve them by introducing a new GI Bill, McCain said the bill was too generous.
McCain said he opposed the bill because it might encourage people to leave the military while the country is fighting two wars. He joined Republican colleagues in proposing a bill to tie increased education benefits to length of service, but Senate Democrats blocked it from coming to a vote.
Biden also read comments attributed to McCain in a trade publication in which he called for reducing regulation for health insurance markets the way the banking industry was deregulated in the past 10 years. Obama referred to the same comments during his appearance in Florida.
That approach, Biden said, would expose health coverage for workers to the disastrous results that subprime mortgages wrought on the lending industry.
McCain spokesman Ben Porritt responded to Biden’s criticisms by saying Obama supports “taking away a worker’s right to secret ballots. John McCain wants to protect the democratic rights of those who unionize by preserving their ability to choose and vote freely.”
Actually, the bill supported by Obama and opposed by McCain would make it easier to unionize. The bill would allow employees to form a union when a majority in the workplace sign union cards, without having to go through a second step - a secret ballot vote that companies now can demand. Many employers oppose the bill because they say workers who don’t want a union could be intimidated into signing up for one without the cover of a secret ballot.
Biden voiced economic populism in an Appalachian region that takes in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia where Hillary Rodham Clinton dominated Obama in the primaries. Obama crushed Clinton in Virginia’s primary, but in the rugged “Fightin’ 9th” Congressional District in the state’s southwestern tip, she beat him by a 2-to-1 ratio.~~~~~~~~~~Miami Herald

Barack Obama’s grandfather, a WWII veteran, taught him the Pledge of Allegiance and inspired his strong love of this country. There’s even video of Barack honoring the flag, but people who want to tear him down claim he refuses to put his hand over his heart or say the Pledge.

Hey, Larry in USN WWII (Ret), you seem to be aware of every cheap-shot, sleazy rumor floating around like a turd on the internet, how come you missed this one?
“On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.”
That might actually work. It would bring back all the sexist females that defected to vote for Palin. Ahhh, ain’t the Big Tent grand?
