New Report from Wal-Mart Watch: Wal-Mart in Crisis

At its annual shareholder meeting earlier this month, Wal-Mart announced plans to slow construction of new domestic stores, a first in the company’s history. Wal-Mart’s business model has depended on new store construction to remain successful, and this announcement has major implications for the company. Now that H L Scott and Susan Chambers has the Associates looking like Girl Scouts the next venture will be to sell H.L Scott and Susan Chambers cookies in February. Put your order in early. It is for sure they are not getting any profit from the Stock.

“Floundering” Wal-Mart’s 2006 sales and profits were larger than the combined sales and profits of “prospering” companies Costco, Target, Sears Holdings, SuperValu, JC Penney, Kroger & Safeway.

If Wal-Mart is in trouble, Costco must be preparing their Chapter 11 filing.
