So funny, yet so sadly true. It’s great that Walmart is not “required” to provide healthcare to its employees, but finds it a corporate “requirement” or more to the point, it apparently deems itself as decision maker when it comes to filling completely legal prescription drugs… So to head off Michael D’s retort: Walmart is not required to provide healthcare for it’s employees because no law of the land requires that it do so, but administers its own laws of the lands even when the thing being sought is legal. Wow. A company that makes its own public policy. What next guns to everybody, prescriptions to some? Wait, that’s that’s the way it is now. Go Gunmar...er Walmart!

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You are saying that Wal-Mart should sell every single product it legally can because someone might need or want it. If Wal-Mart does not, they are guilty of trampling on that person’s right to get what they came to purchase. That’s what I’m hearing. If I am wrong, please correct me. Until then, I will go on thinking that you have no clue what you are talking about.

Someone in USA. You do not deserve to live in this country. I bet you violate laws just like Wal-Mart does. Laws are necessary for the well-being of our society. If someone does not like a law, hire an attorney and appeal it. But until then, obey the law. I hope to god you think laws against rape, armed robbery, murder and others are necessary, or do you not agree with them as well?

Robert-
Actually, now that you mention it, I do find those laws rather restrictive. I mean, why should the government impede my right to rape, rob, and kill? It seems to me that those things, along with arson and slave ownership, are fundamental civil liberties that no government has the right to deny. Read the constitution...it’s in the fine print.
Now...onto your post:
“You do not deserve to live in this country.”
Your basis for this conclusion is?
“I bet you violate laws just like Wal-Mart does.”
I assume this is the reasoning for your previous statement. Too bad it’s groundless. I would imagine that you probably break more laws than I do.
Well, you really didn’t say much else worth commenting on. All you did was open your mouth and prove what an idiot you are by making baseless claims and not even attempting to answer my question. This has nothing to do with either Wal-Mart or I following the law. Are you too much of a fool to see that? Maybe you’d prefer it if I called you a “jackass.”

Someone in USA. Facts were stated when talking of Wal-Mart violating laws. The law stated that if they opened the type of business as they did they would stock certain items as stated. Wal-Mart did not obey the law. So, who is the Jackass now. I believe it is YOU.

“Facts were stated when talking of Wal-Mart violating laws. The law stated that if they opened the type of business as they did they would stock certain items as stated.”
I think I’m going to stick with the schizophrenia diagnosis. The above comment proves that you are delusional. The law states that pharmacies must stock “commonly prescribed medicines.” That would not include Plan B. If it was commonly prescribed, Wal-Mart’s business model dictates that they would already sell it. They would be missing out on profits. Think about it. Doesn’t your logic dictate that Wal-Mart cares more about money than the lives those pills end? Besides, Wal-Mart has stated that if directed to do so, they will carry the drug. They carry it where they are required to do so. No one is shirking the law.

You can’t hide behind this moron forever. My initial question stands. I look forward to debating someone with more brain power.

I agree that there has not been any laws regarding the mandatory stocking of plan-b broken. After contacting Barr Pharmacueticals they have had had only 576 requests as of 02/08/2006 for the drug in the state of Massachusetts. I think Wal-Mart will end up selling this drug in nearly every store within the next 18 months. It is not a very popular drug at this time, however Barr Pharm. expects sales to increase at a rate of 1000% this year. I must advise that this is not investment advice.
I don’t think there is a way to explain your point to these simple minded people.

Just a point, but small, privately owned and operated drugstores in my town sell and disrtibute Plan B, yet a large, multinational retailer doesn’t “want” to because of it’s pseudo-Christian business ethics.
Wal-Mart caters to the poverty it encourages, and what better way for it to make money than to stock a 40$ one-shot contraceptive for those who can’t afford to pay for regualr contraceptives because they WORK AT WAL-MART and their health coverage is ridiculously expensive?
This entire subject is just a way for Wal-Mart to keep their hands warm in George H.W. Bush’s back pocket while garnering media attention and praise for their seemingly Christian family values.

Hey Ex-WalMartian.....
Just so you know, George Herbert Walker Bush is our current president’s father. In your last post, it sounds like you are saying that Wal-Mart wants to stay warm in our current president’s back pocket, not his dad’s.

What do you think about mr robert simms saying he was at the KC meetings? I personally think he is a liar, and if not I think somebody should look him up to find out what store he works at, and report his negative participation on this site.

Strident in MO. I am back. I never said where I worked. It takes people to operate the building the meeting was in. Or, I could be the manager of the building, a floor sweeper, a lighting Technician, a police officer, or a bum that wondered in the building. I know I heard them say they bought land in Turkey to grow organic cotton for their baby clothing. You are still a Jackass by the way.

What is it robert simms does? Ah, you are leaving it a mystery. Who cares! I still do not believe that you heard what you claim to have heard. It is obvious that you do not know how those meetings are ran! The second reason is that your seemingly low level of intelligence would not sustain any of those duties you stated above, including a bum.
You are not the only one to have called me a “jackass”. I have been called this many times before after proving someone wrong during an argument. I have learned to accept it as an admission to defeat.

I find that it is really sad that you guys are not really debating the issue. Instead of looking at the truth you are caught up in the media lead fire. We are looking at a national chain about to attribute to the death of hundreds maybe thousands of children. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that money is worth more than the human population. The world already has enough epidemics, catastrophes and nonsense occurring today. This just adds fuel to the flames.
As to what job you or anyone else has that is irrelevant to the subject. I could careless what you hear or say that you hear, there are people being murdered and killed everyday. Are we as a nation going to stand by and watch another holocaust occur?
So to answer your ridiculous questions before you try to pick my post apart, yes I am a Christian, and yes I am strongly pro-life. Call me an activist, call me crazy, call me whatever you want but let the truth be known. I will not let this happen in my community. It is bad enough that we allow people to kill children because “it is not the right time in my life”. We as humans are selfish but still want every pleasure out there. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. Until you can stand behind what you believe don’t give me some half witted remark. I hope that you do your research on this drug and find out what really happens.
Gosh, how stupid are we! Education is the key, until people educate themselves they will never understand. Oh wait the almighty dollar is the most important factor.
God help us All.

Hey crazy lady in Virginia. Yes you are crazy !! Just because you are pro-life ..you shouldn’t try an push your beliefs on others. Many people in this world are pro life and their are many who believe in abortion. A morning after pill is not even close to abortion you idiot. It is to avoid a woman who was raped or who does not want a child or who made a mistake or who..... HMMM a condom broke from creating a child she doesn not want. It PREVENTS a child who is not wanted from entering this cruel world we live in today. The pill is not an abortion pill. All it does is prevent the egg from turning into a baby. You say people need EDUCATION… You need some EDUCATION. Learn more before you open your silly mouth. ALSO this world would be a lot better if people COULD MIND their own business. If you are against that is your RIGHT. Now if the person sitting nxt to you agrees with it. It is not your business what they do with THEIR life. So to you and all the rest of your Crazy PRO-LIFE ..ACTIVIST crew. MIND YOUR BUSINESS ! ! ! If it’s your daughter then you have a voice but after that you have NO SAY !! You and the gov’t need to stay the hell out of PEOPLE’s PERSONAL LIVES !!!!

Walmart should be required to carry the morning after pill. It is part of important health care. Prolife idiots should butt out and get over it.

I think you are all confused. The issue here has nothing to do with being pro-life or pro-choice. It is about the state forcing a private business to sell something that it has chosen not to carry for business reasons. The product just happens to be a morning after pill.
