Over Here, Little Bird

The manager of a New Jersey Wal-Mart and its exterminator have been charged with animal cruelty after they used inhumane methods to take care of birds that had gotten into the store.

The birds appear to have entered through the garden center, and can be a pretty common sight flying along the rafters at any big box stores that have things like doors, and vents, and windows. This Wal-Mart manager, however, appears to have been tormented by birds during his childhood, because he pulled out the big guns to rid himself of his avian problem:

SPCA President Nancy Beall went to the Mays Landing Wal-Mart early Sunday morning, and saw three traps hanging from the ceiling and told the staff to take them down. One trap was empty, and a second held one bird that was in good condition. But the third trap contained 10 live birds and three dead ones, Beall said. There was a water bottle attached to the cage, but birds do not have tongues and could not access the liquid.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that management of the Mays Landing Wal-Mart referred calls to the chain’s headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., where no one could be reached for comment Thursday evening. Beall, however, has maintained that there are plenty of other options for removing birds from one’s store which do not include trapping and starving them to death.

SPCA charges Walmart with cruelty against birds [The Press of Atlantic City]

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - The manager of the local Walmart and its exterminator were charged with animal cruelty after they allegedly used inhumane methods to take care of birds that had gotten into the store, the president of the Atlantic County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Thursday.

The birds apparently entered the store from the garden center, said local SPCA President Nancy Beall. Store management hired a Pennsylvania exterminator to get them out.

The state SPCA passed on a caller’s tip to the local branch over the weekend that birds in the store were not being treated properly, Beall said.

Beall said she went to the Mays Landing Walmart early Sunday morning, saw three traps hanging from the ceiling and told the staff to take them down. One trap was empty, and a second held one bird that was in good condition.

But the third trap contained 10 live birds and three dead ones, Beall said. There was a water bottle attached to the cage, but birds do not have tongues and could not access the liquid.

“The birds probably died of dehydration,” Beall said.

An inspection card on the traps indicated they had not been checked for six days, Beall said.

The birds probably entered the store through the garden center and were attracted by food for sale in the main shopping area, Beall said. She understands why store management did not want the birds to stay inside, but “there are other ways of handling this,” she said.

The store could install a fan at the entrance from the garden center that would emit a strong blast of air to deter birds from flying inside, Beall said. Another option would be to set the traps, but to provide a bowl of water and check them consistently.

Beall said she signed out animal-cruelty complaints against the exterminator, S & S Wildlife Control of Harrisburg, Pa., and the Walmart store’s manager. The first hearing is scheduled for April 15 in Hamilton Municipal Court.

A woman who answered the phone Thursday afternoon at S & S Wildlife Control said the company had no comment.

Management of the Mays Landing Walmart referred calls to the chain’s headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., where no one could be reached for comment Thursday evening.

Birds, what about killing and basically cooking alive “suspected” shop lifters!

Don’t get me wrong, this bird thing is repulsive in and of it’s self, but there are allot bigger problems that WM has. For instance the fact that they kill suspected shoplifters.

Not only do they kill them, they torture them to death. I know Bob (RDS) will defend these actions with his typical” if they hadn’t stolen they wouldn’t have been killed” But the fact is we live in the U.S. and murder and torture are not acceptable punishments for allegedly stealing some Chinese made junk from a store. Further more, the job of Judge, jury, and executioner, should not, and DOES NOT qualify as one of the job descriptions of the stores security force (in this case DEATH SQUAD). If this were to happen at your home the police would arrest you and the D.A. would more than likely bring charges against you. I know this to be true, I have spoken to my brother, an asst. D.A, and he has assured me that this kind of behavior done by the average U.S. citizen would or could be charged with murder or at least manslaughter in a case like this. He told me that they have prosecuted people and CONVICTED them for far less and they were sentenced to years in prison. Catching a suspected shoplifter does in NO way justify killing a suspect!

The fact that these people were never given their chance to tell their side of the story is wrong! They never received any type of trial, instead they were just murdered. Plain and simple!

I don’t want to side with thieves or any kind of criminal, but the fact remains that this is AMERICA and EVERYONE deserves a fair trial. Vigilantly justice has no place in a “FREE” society!

It take a psychopath ‘love of money’ type to attempt justification of killing people over suspected petty theft. It takes a culture of WalMart psychopathy to have killed these people.

Names and locations of persons suspected as shoplifters killed by WalMart Stores Inc. personnel-

Russell S. Palmer, 38- Kansas City, Missouri Dec. 2008

Patrick Donovan, 53- North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Stacy Driver, 30- Atascocita, Texas Aug. 2005 at about 2 p.m. Death ruled a homicide- WalMart paid $750,000 to the family.

Floyd Watson- Tulsa, Oklahoma

Jan M. Burstein, 29- Las Vegas, Nevada Sept. 2001 Death ruled a homicide

Am I angry? No, not I!
I’m just glad the Beast of Bentonville can’t fly!

Weather they fly or not, it hasn’t stopped the “Beast” from SHITTING all over the world. They (WM) are like a giant pigeon in a park, and the world has become their statue!

BIG D AND SDV:

YOU BOTH MUST NOT HAVE FOLLOWING RDS’ CIRCULAR “LOGIC”
CONCERNING A CONSCIENCE.

IN RDS’ WORLD THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES SUCH AS TRUTH, JUSTICE,
HONESTY, RIGHT AND WRONG.  TO RDS, THERE IS ONLY ONE RUDDER THAT
STEERS HIS BOAT---PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.  I BET HE GETS UP EVERY
DAY, AND AS HE ADMIRES THE REFLECTION IN THE MIRROR, HE SAYS:
“THERE IS NO GOD BUT ME!”

PEOPLE WITH RDS’ MINDSET BELIEVE IN “truth.”. EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE
IS INDEPENDENT.  ANYTHING CAN BE EXPLAINED AWAY OR JUSTIFIED,
INCLUDING KILLING AND STEALING AND COVETING YOUR “competitors”
NICHE BUSINESS. THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHAT YOU
PERSONALLY BELIEVE.  SCREW USELESS CONCEPTS LIKE “VALUES”
AND HAVING A CONCERN FOR YOUR NEIGHBOR.  THERE’S TWO COMMANDMENTS
FOR RDS.  1). LOOK OUT FOR NO. 1.  WHEN THAT DOESN’T WORK, 2)
LOOK OUT FOR NO. 1.

Screwedby,

“YOU BOTH MUST NOT HAVE FOLLOWING RDS’ CIRCULAR “LOGIC”
CONCERNING A CONSCIENCE.”

Here is your ‘Conscience’ logic!!  Screw those Chinese, America FIRST!!  As long as an American, no matter their education or skill level can own a home, have at least 2 cars, an RV, and a boat, to hell with the other people in the world!!  Why should any American have to give up luxuries, so that ‘slave labor’ can have work?  And, who cares if Iraqi’s are being killed by their Leader, as long as there are NO WMD’s, to hell with them!!

See, your conscience only works, when it fits your viewpoint!!  And, if your pea brain thinks it, no matter how many times it has been proven WRONG, to your conscience, it is RIGHT!!  I bet, you still think ‘locking’ people into the ‘dependancy of welfare’ is ‘good’ for them!!  You seem to think that being responsible for yourself is ‘stupid’ and ‘selfish’, just WHY is it WRONG to take care of yourself and your family?  Maybe if you were to concern yourself with YOUR welfare, instead of depending on others, you would see that you can help others better, if YOUR life is on track FIRST!!

Your main problem is, that you judge me, by your own actions, even though you don’t even know me!!  I have helped more people than you will ever know, so my conscience is as clear as Crystal!!

I have helped more people than you will ever know, so my conscience is as clear as Crystal!!

And I will venture a guess that you, RDS, have helped far more people than the all-new, iPhone-enabled Screwed 2.0 ever will though his “work”.

I think Screwedby’s keyboard ‘caps lock’ is broken and he is waiting for his Mommy to buy him one for his Birthday!!

BTW:  “Work’ is a dirty four letter word, to Screwedby!!  He thinks ‘work’ is for ‘suckers’, who left the NEST too early!!

I have worked at walmart for many years and there is nothing you could imagine or tell me that I would not believe about walmart.  I can assure you that anything you read in this venue is probably absolute fact.

...lazy asses who dont like to work...

Count me in! I don’t like to work (for the ‘Man’). Never have, never will.

It’s a beautiful Spring day. Think I’ll ease outside and catch some rays. Enjoy your work, MATT.

The Greeks, like the Hebrews, also regarded work as a curse (Maywood, 1982). According to Tilgher (1930), the Greek word for work was ponos, taken from the Latin poena, which meant sorrow. Manual labor was for slaves.

<b>Manual labor was for slaves.</i>

Today they are called “wage slaves”.

Behind a fence topped with razor wire just off U.S. Highway 71 is a bunker of a building that Wal-Mart considers so secret that it won’t even let the county assessor inside without a nondisclosure agreement.
