Wal-Mart Employees Speak Out
Today’s explosive story from the Wall Street Journal lays bare the scare tactics Wal-Mart uses on its employees, but that story would not have been possible without the several brave Wal-Mart employees who stepped up and spoke out about the company’s practices. One employee wrote in to our website about Wal-Mart’s mandatory political meetings, but was too afraid of the company to write much:
If you or someone you know works for Wal-Mart and has something to say, we encourage you to speak out. All information is confidential and will not be released for any reason without permission.
THANK YOU to the people who helped expose this practice. Your courage has made all the difference.

I worked for Wal-Mart from 1999 to 2004 in North Carolina and I recall two anti-union meetings that were held with hourly sales staff and cashiers, telling us how bad unions were and how we shouldn’t talk to anyone who is from a union. So this doesn’t surprise me one bit, nor do I doubt the validity of the claim.

I grabbed your banner there about walmart and put it on my blog because I don’t know how to make my own. I’ll take it down if you object to my using it.

Most of the books I have read about Wal-Mart employees have said employees are afraid to speak out about what it’s like working there. If a Wal-Mart employee speaks out about what it’s like working there--they will be fired.
I congratulate any Wal-Mart employee who speaks out. Don’t let the bully of Bentonville make your life miserable.

The website Reclaim Democracy is an ultimate source of information on ALL areas of interest related to WalMart. I HIGHLY recommend it for its encyclopedic content of WalMart.

I worked for walmart for about 6 months and was fired basically because I spent more money in there than my paycheck would allow. I have worked retail for 10 yrs and not afraid of Walmart and their tactics but telling me that I need to stand up and be a “good mother to my child” when I was questioned about my spending is uncalled for. I am not a single parent, unmarried, or living on my income from them so what I spend is none of their concern.
