Wal-Mart Watch Applauds Announcement On Packaging Reduction

Washington, D.C. – Wal-Mart Watch executive director Andrew Grossman issues the following statement regarding Wal-Mart’s announcement on packaging and carbon emissions:
“We’re encouraged that Wal-Mart has formalized its plans to reduce packaging and cut its carbon emissions. We urge them to add benchmarks and timelines for their other sustainable value networks by the end of the year.
This goes to show Wal-Mart’s power when it chooses to be a leader. Wal-Mart has the ability to help transform American health care and wage standards, and we look forward to working with them on these efforts.”
