This past summer, story after story came out about tainted food being sold by Wal-Mart. Spinach infected with E. Coli, pot pies tainted with salmonella, unsafe hamburger meat and pet food contaminated with melamine were just some of the unsafe edibles being sold by the retailer, which has been working to increase its food offerings
since 2005. Now, after months of criticism from Wal-Mart Watch and our
allied partners, Wal-Mart is finally pledging to address these and
other food safety concerns. Will the retailer follow through?
